1 Eat healthier.
2 Get out into the bush more and enjoy the isolation of harsh inacessable terrain. Camping, hiking, caving, canoeing, survival trips etc etc.
3 Take more risks.

That's me.

How about you?

Baz.

Hmmm I dont do NY resolutions but my goals this year are to expand my home based business, keep going with my exercise program, learn more about astronomy (currently a bit overwhelmed with it all as a noob), get some more practice/experience with amateur photography and keep improving my cooking skills.....

I was going to try to tolerate fools better but Nah. They deserve all they get.

Baz,

I think I'll join you in on all 3 of those resolutions. They sound tops to me.

Also, to get the web site done/paid for before June. :)

Sarah, cool. What type of business, if you don't mind me asking?

Regards,
Humayun

I'll echo H in committing to get my website done.

I'm also going to spend more time getting out there with my camera taking more shots, as well as learning more skills on the processing side of things.

Doug, the problem is they out-number us!

1. Eat healthier.

2. De-clutter my life, hobbies, workshop etc... sell all my unwanted items.

3. Complete landscaping our property.

I have a few on the to-do list, will echo a few of Baz's and Stephens....
In no particular order...

1. Quit smoking.
2. Eat Healthier.
3. Get onto the surfboard again.
4. De-clutter my life... come from a family of hoarders.
5. Take more risks... eg, the tough one, pluck up the courage to tell the girl at work I love her :eyepop:
6. Crash and burn (see #5)

Steve your supposed to make realistic new years resolutions.......:P

I did all that stuff last year.

Eating healthier and quitting smoking made me feel a whole lot better. So I got out and did more farmwork. That buggered my back. The pain is constant and so nothing gets done except double slow.

I made an effort to get to know my neighbours. Some are great. Most are insane, ill-educated boozing gun-nuts who think Pauline Hansen is too soft.

I tried to be nicer to people and more trusting. I got taken for a ride to the tune of $3000 by a tradesman.

If Gordon Ramsay could cook like me, he'd die happy. Now everyone comes to our place for Sunday dinner and we're going broke feeding them.

I resolved to get my work streamlined and finish early. I did. They were supposed to make me redundant and give me a fat wad of cash. Now they're all impressed and want to promote me.

Bugger!
I'm going back to being a surly unpleasant loafer who smokes and drinks,
works when he feels like it, refuses to go in the kitchen and never talks to anybody.
Its safer that way! :D

Happy Whateveritisyou'resupposedtobehappy aboutday!

Quite the opposite Ben :)
You always make resolutions you have absolutely NO hope of achieving.

Simon,

Mate, just do it! I made mistake not telling her and I will never forgive myself for it. What you got to lose? Just ask her out to see the "Avatar" movie with you :)

Steve,

I agree with you on this one, it is very realistic one. The key word here is "attempt" :)

cheers

HELLO everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR.

I don't usually make new years resolutions (probably just so I don't have to try to stick to them) but here we go...

1. Look more.
2. Eat less; drink less.
3. Be a better mum.
4. Be more tolerant (of everything).
5. Get outdoors more and smell more than the roses.

All this is making me tired. Time for a snack and a nap (!! haha).

Kerrie :)

Only four main ones this year.

1. Finish the retaining wall around the house.

2. Build the chook pen and vege garden.

3. Get my advanced firefighter certification.

4. Build the observatory and get more sky time.

Have a happy and wonderful new year everyone.

Cheers

LOL! Thanks Duc. I'm working on it.

Your in love with her too? Damn! Pistols at ten paces! LOL
Avatar is a great idea but she has already seen it. I'll ask her tho.

Haha! If anyone at my workplace had a case for sexual harassment, it's me! haha.
She is very playfull but 'coz I'm management I play it ultra safe and stand there taking it like a 'tarded Gump. :(

Spend more on astronomy gear

Now I know that is a certainty

Pay off my credit card. I'm on track to have it paid off by the end of May. :)

If I didn't see a mate playing with Stellarium last year, I would not have become interested in astronomy. I would owe a lot less on my credit card, and I wouldn't be posting this because I wouldn't have joined IIS.

Jen dosnt normally make resolutions :lol: I like being naughty :D;)

But loosing few more kilos would be great  and maybe a 6th attempt to try and give up the ciggies when the kids go back to school :help:

Hoo yeah! Relationship with the mother in law is paramount IMHO. If you play your cards right when your wife fights with her mum, all of a sudden you're the good guy/confident from both sides. You can get anything you want. :D It's tricky, but this equilibrium is pure heaven (while it lasts). It's like riding a wave. Then you've got to dodge the dog house again (x10) coz let's face it, that's like gravity, nothing's more certain. ;)

Continuing the wave / surfing analogy Marc.....
I'd end up dumped on the rocks, my mouth full of sand. My board
snapped in half and her telling me where I'm going wrong in life.
Safer out in the deeper water where the white pointers are.
This woman is a scary piece of work duuuude!:)

I never used to make New Years Resolutions but now I set myself goals rather than "resolutions" as such.

Stuff I want to achieve in the year, rather than stuff to stop doing or start doing.

I've set most of mine for 2010 now, but need to come up with some career/work related ones when it comes to KPI time in the next month or so.

Just do it Jen! Think of all the money you'll save. You can use this saved money on astro gear. And if that's not enough, try cutting back on your booze as well.

Hi Jen, :)

Giving up smoking is easy. I did it lots of times.

A method to implement that resolution I once heard of: Evaluate just how much you spend on the habit.:confused2:

Each week instead of spending on ciggies place the money in a jar. The jar must be secured by anyone that can stop you from ratting the jar, and be trustworthy ofcourse.:)

Eventually on a pre- arranged date or amount you get the jar to spend as reward. It can be as little as a month or two at first. Then go longer.

By having someone help you it becomes a little easier to discipline yourself. :D:thumbsup:

Good Luck;):)

Cheers Marty

Nah... alcohol is alright in moderation. It's good for you. Smoking though is a dirty habit hard to shake. Took me years to give up. I think you need to cut down and ease into it. You just can't stop altogether. You'll be stuck in the lolly shop eating Mars bars 24/7. ... I did.

Jen
