Does anyone have a Canon 1000D working with Maxim DL 4?
In the camera setup dialogue, this model of Canon is not specifically listed as an option. I've tried the other models in case one would turn out to be suitable but while Maxim seems to be happy to let me do that, it still won't take an exposure with that camera. I've replaced cables and checked connections. The problem is elsewhere. But I can't find the answer.

Hi Peter

Sorry mate I can't help you with version 4 as I have only ever used version 5. Please see the screen shot attached, you can certainly select the 1000D under EOS2. Not sure if version 4 has the same options.

Unfortunately it might be time to upgrade.

Yeah, but it shouldn't be. You pay top $$ for software because, so the logic goes, the cost of development is high and therefore the return should be in proportion. But when a product like Maxim DL CCD/DSLR is in the same marketplace as the Canon 1000D, there is a basis, I think, for a reasonable expectation that the developers of Maxim would provide a patch instead of put their hands out for yet more $$ for an upograde to procide functionality that ought to have been there in the previous version. Little rant!!

Peter.
