View Full Version here: : "Lines" of Interference?

I have had my SXVR-H16 for a month or so now, and am enjoying it immensely, that is when the weather doesn't impede it's use.
Of late I have noticed some "lines" in the odd frame, and in Bias frames sometimes, and initially I put these down to slight imperfections in the chip, but easily fixed with a Bias frame.
However they are not always in the same spot, varying somewhat. Sometimes right across the frame, others only part way. Sometimes just the one, others more than one or two.
In talking to the Man, Terry Platt, it seems my PC is causing these lines, and to this end I have tried the camera with my MacBook, and Nebulosity, and the lines are nowhere to be seen.
Pulling my hair out at my age is not an option and I am fresh out of ideas, so am after suggestions, any, from the knowledge base here. Even to the extent of formatting and reloading Windoze (XP Home).
Thoughts?
Gary

Got it fixed with the help of the SX man himself, Terry Platt.

So what was it? Put some ferrite on the USB line or some other issue? I did get banding such as this occasionaly on the QHY8 and QHY5.

I was thinking of the ferrite idea as well. How did it go Gary? What was the solution.

Firmware updates from the man. I tried a couple he sent, and the latest one fixed it. Clean Bias frames now.

That seems to be the answer given to most astrophotograhy questions.

Very appropriate. :P
