Now that I have the 300D, I'll also need to update our old lexmark3200, as it just won't be up to the job of printing quality images.

I'm open to suggestions here.
So please feel free to make any comments on price, quality, reliabilty or anything else you may happen to think of.

To give you an idea I'm looking at the $400 - 600 price mark.

Thanks All.

I get great results from my Canon865i up to A4 size, dont think that model is made any more.

This link takes you to one Sydney suppliers list of Canons, at the top are links to other manufacutures models they stock.

It might be cheaper and more convenient (no paper/ink refills) to have your photos printed by one of the Kodak, Fuji, Agfa etc photo outlets.

Hi,

Have to agree with Steve on that one too. Prices have come down now for prints. You can take it to the shop and have your prints done in 10 minutes (depending on how many of course). Here are some pros and cons of having your own printer:

Pros:
can print whenever you want to.
can use it for other purposes.

Cons:
ink cartridges aren't cheap.
ink cartridges have a limited life span and dry up.
prints look best on glossy paper, forget std paper.
takes a few mins. to dry - smudges if not careful.
If you want 6 x 8 prints and you don't have the right paper, then you need to cut it to size etc.

For the record I have a HP Photosmart P1000 and it was novel at first. Also I had access to glossy paper. However after a while it became a chore and although the quality was ok to good, it just wasn't up to scratch like the ones you get from the online photoprint shops.

Good luck in your decision!;)
