After much umming and ahhing, I finally lashed out on Saturday and grabbed a 13mm T6 Nagler. Got it out for its first run tonight when a very nice clear patch of sky appeared for an hour or so.
Worth every cent. While this is probably the cheapest of the wider field TV eyepieces, it is great value for money. First target was (of course) Omega cent. For 3 years I have read and heard people talk about seeing patterns of stars and dark lanes in this beauty, but all I ever see is a fairly even glow and a few sprinkled stars. Not now, darks lanes criss cross the cluster and it is just stunning in this EP:eyepop:. Similar result with 47tuc. Had a look at Jupiter, could see mottling in both equatorial bands and could see many more minor bands than I have ever seen before.
Glanced at M7 and M6 then cruised that area. Found some globulars (NGC6453 and 6441) nearby. Really pleased with 6453 as it is really faint and I've never picked it up before.
Overall I am very happy with this purchase. :thumbsup:
It is as easy and comfortable to use as the 25mm plossl that came with my scope but gives much more power. The field is much flatter than any other EP I own, although I have viewed through a 12mm Nagler with a paracorr which was brilliant. Eye relief is only 12mm, but that is enough to be comfortable and I could use my glasses. From a relative newbies perspective, this all shows you don't have to fork out the $$$ on an Ethos to improve your viewing experience.
