Help from IRIS users please.

I have decided to try IRIS to process my RAW Canon DSLR files and everything goes OK until I try and convert into PIC using the decode RAW files.

After dragging and dropping the files into the decode RAW files box and I press the CFA button a dialogue box comes up and tells me that the files can't be saved and there is no further progress.

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Do your camera settings reflect the camera you're actually using? You can find the setting by pressing the camera icon on the toolbar.

Prior to the Canon EOS-350D, the RAW files were saved in the *.CRW format. They are now saved in the *.CR2 format.

Also, ensure that you have a relevant location for your processing directory under Files -> Settings.

I only use IRIS only to pre-process some of my spectra so I'm not a experienced user.
With the Canon RAW files, mine are saved from the 350D as .CR2 files.
In IRIS, V5.57 I can "load RAW" and my image appears at full resolution in colour.
The tab "Digital Photo-decode RAW files" raises a new window which asks for files to be dragged, BUT it appears to only recognise the older .CRW files????
Don't know if it helps, but the .CR2 file as loaded, can be saved as a .pic file.
Other than that, sorry can't help much.
What are you trying to do with your file?

Thanks for the info guys. First off I am using a 1000D which does not get a run in the cameras drop menu. It still runs at .CR2 so I assume that it is the same as the other .CR2 Canon cameras in the menu. Maybe not.
I am trying to save the PIC files to the same folder that the RAW files came out of. That is what I think I am supposed to do.
I just can't get the RAW files to decode into PIC files so that IRIS can recognise them.

I found out what was happening with me. Doh! I had the camera incorrectly nominated as a Canon 300D ( I also have one, Baader modified)!
When this was changed over to the Canon 350D, the *.CR2 file type came up in the decode window; drag a *.CR2 onto the window and then give it a suitable name. I wanted B&W ( again for my spectra) and pressed the "B&W" button.... up came the decode image in the main window, then saved as .PIC.
If you are doing the same, then I'm not sure what the problem may be other than the 1000D has a different .CR2 format????
( Didn't understand what the CFA was - Colour Filter Array!)

OK I've decoded my .CR2 file to "CFA" - new image comes up on the main screen; "save as" .PIC file and it saves OK!!?
Must be something to do with the Canon 1000?????
