I started using Google Chrome about a year ago maybe bit less, started off fairly buggy but has improved substantially since. Still havn't fully tested it on shopping site, which is where I had a lot of problems initially.
One thing about the latest internet explorer is the ability to highlight text - right click to select different searches. Found Google Chrome has a similar feature although only provide a search using Google but functional.
One really good is that it is really uncluttered with simple controls and quite flash looking.

Sorry, I don't trust Google. Couldn't recommend using their products on this issue alone.

...but who do you trust? They're all players mining for data no matter which way you look at it. I do however feel from a technologist perspective Chrome is a well thought cloud computing concept. In today's society, we are becoming more well connected through a variety of access mediums (gprs, edge, 3G, wifi, 802.20d, WiMax etc). I see this format as a natural progression. I've yet to give Chrome a run, but am enthusiastic at prospect it brings to addressing some key issues with supporting road warriors (mobile business users).
I'd imagine it to be a small footprint, lightweight OS designed around the web browsing experience, using their own web based email (gmail), word processing (google docs) etc. It will be good for netbooks and portables, and might offer a good alternative to install on older hardware that won't be able to upgrade to the bloatware that Microsoft releases. I doubt you would be able to install any applications onto it.

To quote the X files, "trust no one". Sadly, it's a pretty true thing these days.

Have Google removed that scheduled task thingy (in Windows, anyway) that they installed as part of Chrome? I believe it was used to gather statistics (I mean, what else would it be used for? *cough*).
I have absolutely nothing to hide. My machine is open to anyone who wishes to look through it. However, I always figured that a right to privacy was just a given and that it should be respected. But, business is business, and at the end of the day, money talks.
