Well I managed to gather some RGB data although I ended up with only half the green data I needed (a mere 45 mins) because the clouds rolled back in and stayed :mad2:. I went ahead and processed it anyway and it doesn't look bad at all!

The added RGB data was worth waiting for Marcus we got to see it sooner than expected. A beautiful composition making a very interesting image to browse. The full res is super

Hmmm? rather spectacular that Marcus....

I think it was the plentiful Lum that saved you, not having much RGB is not that big a deal really.

Beautiful area huh? That's three great shots of it recently too.

Thanks Adam - there a a handfull of background galaxies in there that add a bit of interest up close.

Thanks a lot Troy

Thanks guys - glad you liked it. The native FL of the Tak gave a very pleasing framing but I like the crop best.

Thanks Clive ... buuuut ........ you played with MY image!!!!! :D:P;) Knock yourself out mate - no worries!

Thanks Steven ... all good things come to those who wait! :)

Thanks mate! Yep, it sure is a beautiful field - the juxtaposition with the glob is very cool I think!. Anyway, I needed some more blues in my portfolio! :D ...... damn clouds ... <mumble - curse> :(:mad2:

Cheers Marc

Thanks Trevor!

There are critiques I could make, then again I'd be complaining about
Cindy Crawford (pictured) having a mole.

Marcus,

I haven't got to the astro photo yet, wouldn't know how good it was. But what I can tell you is that Cindy isn't hurtin' ugly :)

its not a critique as i realize its unfinished.

i had a play and fiddled with the color, trying to have a stab at what it might look like with the extra color added.

your image is just oozing detail. it was a lot of fun.

Well tha's a first I think..? Most people who take it apon themselves to fiddle with the images of others thinking they know best make a cok-up of it  but that is indeed an improvement Clive, nice huh Marcus?

Oh go ahead Peter - don't be shy!!! Critique away!! BTW, I would definitely process out Cindy Crawford's mole!!!

Hmmm, the one on the left is yours right? The one on the right looks like my version. Edit: I see you've increased the green and reduced the red but not sure I like it. Post the whole frame and let's see. I did have a version that had the histograms lined up nicely but I didn't like it - preferred more red and I hate any sign of a green cast. I do like your version of the glob though - I neglected it and have now improved it I think.

Nah ... if it's the version on the left, on my CRT the colour looks insipid. The one on the right (with more the vibrant colour) looks like my version. Edit: I went back and improved (I think) the glob a bit - looks less like a blue doughnut now!

yeah you got me i used a blend of 80% or so the color of mine over the luminance of yours. it started off just for me to see just how yours and mine lined up. Then i wanted to see how much more detail yours had than mine ( heaps) . then i figured i had some green to lend a friend.

(i did ask before i posted as it can be annoying to some people)

Your image surpasses mine, it was fun though.

Oh Clive, that's cheating! ;):). You are supposed to just manipulate the colour of mine - not use your own colour! :)

In any case it is fun to do and I have no problem if people want to download my images to look at or use (= play with) privately as long as you're above board about it as you have been. Moreover, I post my images at full res so people can enjoy them!

Marcus, this is top shelf!!!

Your colours are spectacular and really, it needs nothing more.

You've captured this, one of my favourite objects excellently.

Very well done indeed:thumbsup:

Ok The mole is gone.

The sky on your heavenly body image is maybe a tad too dark/contrasty and the dust looks a little too red. Either way it's a much better Corona Aust image than I've done to date. Malin 2010 perhaps?! ;)

Fair enough - I did agonise over the redness but I ended up liking the richer tones better - maybe there's a happy medium. I see what you mean about the dark sky areas - I'll tinker a bit.

... And she's much prettier without the mole :)

Lovely Marcus. Was worth the wait. Similar to Clive, I also noted the colour weights didn't appear correct. Needed a little more green in the mid-tones IMO. Still, you're the imager and there's no-one else to please but yourself. Nice work. Perhaps its time to do more at the native focal length...

Bring back the mole - natural is in...overly processed work is out...

Thanks Jase - after looking at it with fresh eyes in a dark room I agree with Peter and you. I've tinkered with it a bit to lessen the red in the dust and reduce the contrast a tad. Same links - see if you notice the difference!
