Hi All,
I've just joined IIS. It good to finally find a Aussie forum. Here is a quick introduction. I'm 28, I live 55km south east of Melbourne under darkish skies, I'm right into CCD imaging. My first telescope was a 4.5" tasco reflector when I was around 8 years of age. I got bitten by the imaging bug when I purchased a Meade LXD55 10 SN a few years ago.
Here is some of my more recent work with a LX200Gps and William Optics refractor.

Hi Iceman,
I will see what I can do. I will be scopeless as my rig isn't portable anymore. :tasdevil:
I would be happy to drop by and meet some of the members. Unless someone wants to lend me a G8? :prey: I might be able to invite one of my other astro buddies along who has a more portable setup. I'll see what I can do.
Cheers,
Brad

It's great! Just what I've been looking for!
I've seen your work before up on the LXD55 site. I didn't realise you had a website. Your images are fantastic! You've done some great work. You should be proud.
Is your 300D modded in anyway? e.g. no IR filter? Have you thought about using a Paracorr correct? I wonder if you would be able to reach focus with the Paracorr and the SN?
The RC has been on order for about 120 days now. I should have it by Nov-Dec this year I hope. However I'm enjoying the wide field work with my refractor.
Cheers,
Brad

Hi Xstream,
Lets just say I had some operator error with my IIS account. (my anti-spam software ate the activation email) Hope to see you on the IRC again.

It's 82kg in its full configuration including the pier. Not really ultra portable setup eh? :)

Gee, thanks Brad. I guess I am a little proud .
My 300D is stock standard. It's still under warranty and so I am not touching it! :scared: I generally find that there a very few targets where it is a huge disadvantage.
I think that the paracorr would prevent me reaching focus from what I can tell from my internet research. I have actually just ordered a Baader Multi-Purpose Coma Corrector. It should arrive soon. I've tried one with my set-up (borrowed) and it seems to work really well with the SN10. When I get it I'll take some test shots to make a direct comparison.
Thanks again Brad. I look forward to seeing more of your work and I will be happy to share mine. To me that's where I get the most buzz: being able to share my work with others.
Cheers

The more the merrier, Brad! And you don't need to bring a scope, there'll be plenty there to look through.
I've driving down from north of Sydney, and i'm not taking my scope with me. I know that everyone will be happy to share. And it's going to be a great socialising event, too.
Thanks Brad, i'll pop in and say g'day.
