Raw files and CCD Stacker

I have CCD stacker and it won't accept the RAW files from my 1000D.
How do I get the images ready so that CCD stacker can use them?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do you mean CCDStack?

If so, the CCDStack website states:

"CCDStack accepts image-file formats FITS, SBIG, TIFF, JPEG, and BMP".

You’ll have to convert your Raw files to either TIFF or BMP to retain as much of the Raw data as possible then CCDStack should be able to open them?

I think BMP is not good... it is 3x8 bit format.
FITS, TIFF SBIG are 3x16 bits, they will preserve all the data present in RAWs.

Thanks for the tips guys, but I know what I have to do, I just don't know how to do it.

I assume your Canon camera came with a software CD that had Canon Digital Photo Professional on it? If so, you can install that software and open the images to “Convert and Save” as a TIFF.

There is a “Batch Process” option which appears to allow you to selects a group of files and convert them to Tiff’s in a batch without the need to open, convert and save them individually.

Just make sure you know how it works – I’d hate for you to overwrite your original raw captures!

PS – I have never used Canon Photo Pro so I’m only reporting on what I see on the screen.

I am using Photo Professional regularly..
There is no problem of over-writing pictures, they can be retrieved in original form very easy. Actually only "recipe" is changed and saved with the file. Raw data remains intact.
