G,day all,,,I'm relatively new to astronomy and have just read the above thread on the solar eyepiece filters,:scared:,,I never considered how dangerous these could be and only chanced apon the thread and read it with awe,,,Thank you all for making this info available even 4 years after this thread was closed,,,Highly commended and still a relevant informative discussion,,,,MANY MANY THANKS Mat :thumbsup:

No point in using one unless you want to go blind. Sloar film or PSTs are the only safe way to view the sun.
