Gday All
I have recently lost access to a single scope site
http://www.weasner.com/etx/menu.html
everything else works no probs.
I have reset browser to default, turned off firewall, turned off AV, etc
( as required by the "helpdesk" std rote :screwy:) and its crud
I can use low level nslookup, tracert etc and they work if i use the Telstra DNS server, but not the Optus one, so its 99% none of the above
So far it looks like its a problem with Optus,
( either banning or being banned en route )
but i cant prove it yet.
If anyone on Optus out there can try and connect to the
above site, i would be interested in your replies.
I so far know of one other Optus user who cant get in ( on cable ),
but the more the merrier.
Everyone on Telstra connects no probs
( but NO im not swapping yet :P )

We're on Optus broadband. After clicking the above hyperlink, it took several seconds before the error message came through.
Same thing using copy/paste the URL into a new Window – “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage”
Cheers
Dennis
I'm with Optus and I can't get on there either.
Hope that helps Andrew.

Thks for that guys
I now have four Optus users who cant access that site
( via dialup or cable )
but all other with different ISPs can,
hence its definitely an Optus related problem
Houghy?? You say you can get in
Are you just a std Optus user or do you have a special domain???
I'm thinking their basic "plebs" level server may be blocked by the other end. ( It wont be the first time Optus has been blacklisted )
As to reloading/purging, tried that on 2 machines with 2 different browsers
and also tried low level dos pinging and tracing, ie bypass the browsers altogether. It just wont play via Optus
Ah well, i have ammo now for their "help" desk

Hi Andrew & All,
I'm on Optus DSL and my experience is identical to Dennis above.
Good luck with resolving it.
Best,

Hi all,
I am with Optus DSL also and same - cannot display webpage. Could it be blocked by Optus for some reason?

I've seen this sort of problem with bigpond, I can't remember the resolution, from memory, it was something to do with some of their DNS servers not being properly updated.

Gday Phil
I am on dialup, and when i mentioned this, i was told that it didnt use DNS servers:rofl:
( and i wasnt allowed to know an alternate DNS server just to try )
Ie I got someone reading a script, but it was impossible to get past them to a spook who could actually do some real investigation
Anyway, i have enough confirmation now to prove its not just me
so tomorrow i get a beer and sit down and wade through the
"how to talk to a human" automation, and try again.
Again, thks all for proving its not just me.

I'm on Optus DSL and after a long wait I get the same error as other Optus users above.
The very useful Down For Everyone Or Just Me? (http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/) website, shows www.weasner.com as being OK.
Im on optus broadband and firefox and the site came up straight away. May be its internet explorer??
