I can't seem to get both the programs working at the same time off the same USB port where I've attached a 4 port usb hub too. Obviously a com's conflict of some sort. Anyone else resolved a similar problem.

You only have one USB controller in the computer. So each port has a share of the CPU time.
Same as downloading from 2 or more USB ports. The transfer speed drops off per port as you increase the number of ports.
Try adding another USB controller. This allows a seperate USB controller to run in conjuction with the onboard unit. You should see an increase then.

A 4 port hub makes it worse, as it combines an extra 4 ports to be read by 1 port.

How far away from the computer is your hub? You may need an active cable.

I had this problem running guiding and my QHY8 until recently... a $29 PCMCIA USB controller card fixed the problem right up...

I was having problems where I could guide brilliantly in DSLR images, but as soon as I tried to image with the QHY8, the guiding would lock up.. this was because the guide cam and the QHY8 and the GPUSB were all trying to run through one controller.. now guiding/guide camera run of PCMCIA, QHY8 and motorfocus run off the PC's onboard USB controller, things are sweet! :)
