Hi,

A question on processing as I know my skills in this area are limited. After I take a number of images I use Deep Sky Stacker to stack both lights and darks (no yet using flats let alone even know what bias frames are). Then I save the image as is and then do some basic processing using the colours and tonal range offerres in DSS. Once this is done I usually save this image and then reopen it in Photoshop CS3 and work on levels and curves (normally only once). My question is can I use my original saved image in DSS with no adjustments and open it in CS3 and bring the colours as well as then work on the levels and curves. I am currently working through the book Astronomy Photoshop but am wondering if I can bypass any stages that I am currently doing.

Thanks

Mark

i just used DSS to calibrate and stack the image, i never did any processing in it. you should be able to take the stacked TIFF straight from DSS to photoshop and do everything there

DSS saves an autosave.TIFF file when stacking is complete. I normally open this in PS and work on that.
