On the night of the Smiley Face Conjunction (http://www.mikesalway.com.au/2008/12/02/pictures-of-the-smiley-face-conjunction), before the sun set and the conjunction was visible, I was able to capture some dramatic sunset scenes over Brisbane Water, from Yattalunga and Green Point (http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=green+point,+nsw&sll=-25.335448,135.745076&sspn=40.559938,56.601563&ie=UTF8&ll=-33.459856,151.353707&spn=0.009291,0.013819&t=h&z=16) on the Central Coast of NSW.
I captured and processed these using HDR techniques. It’s a fairly new technique for me and not everyone is a fan of the type of images it can produce - sometimes producing unrealistic fairytale type images, or with halo artefacts, depending on the extent of the processing.
I used Photomatix and Photoshop for processing.

I'm keen for your feedback.
Cheers
