Barlow Vs Powermate

Call me dumb but I need to be explained what the real difference is between a Barlow lens and a Powermate.
My brain tells me that they basically perform the same function

I'll back up steve, I have the 5x 1.25" and its one of my favorite astro toys! :D Build quality compared to the cheapie >$30 barlows around is... Astronomical...:whistle:
