HI. I am trying out Linux Ubuntu 8,04.
I find it rather confusing trying to locate software similar to The Sky.
Any ideas?

You should have KStars already setup, unless you're not using KDE as the windows manager. Anyway, if you don't have it, you can get it from here...

Although Ubuntu, like all other Linux distro's, should be able to download it through your download manager.

Great, thanks.
I have down loaded kstars. Another thing is to install the software, another learning curve for me.

It should have the instructions in a text file included with the download. Follow them and you'll have no problems:)

Hi. I have a 386 laptop and is unable to install kstars, is it possible that an earlier version of Unbuntu, say ver 7, will have kstars and will run on my 386 laptop?

Probably...although you'd be better off getting a more powerful laptop. That is an OLD laptop!!!!.

A 386?

I wouldn't bother with anything more taxing than ms-dos.
