I am wondering if anyone uses this software for processing there images?
Astronomy Tools for Photoshop by Noel Carboni. http://actions.home.att.net/Astronomy_Tools_For_Full_Version.ht ml
It looks like a great bit of software for increasing the possiblities of what you can do when processing your images. There are some great features like adding star diffraction spikes to your image and noise reduction.
For only $20US, why not?
Do you think it would be worth it?
Thanks in advance.

I have it and several others. I find it indispensable along with photoshop - well worth the money.

Some functions are pretty slow and heavy on the CPU. I run a quad core 6gig box for processing and some functions take 30minutes or more to run. But they are macros and you can figure out what's going on if you are that way inclined.

Which ones are they that take that long?
I use them and some take maybe a minute but not more.
I use a duo core 2 laptop.
The main ones I use that are helpful are the increase star colour action and the reduce noise action. Reduce star size is also handy. There are others I use from time to time but not routinely.
He also adds to them every now and then.
There are a few free ones around. Chris Schur's website I think it is has a few free ones for galaxy processing.

Oh God....Brighten DSOs. I can go and bake a cake, mow the lawn and paint the house by the time that runs on my poor little beast. All those minimize components.
Otherwise they're great. :D

As Matt said, for $US20 you can't go wrong. I have it and use it occasionally, but wouldn't be fussed if I had to stop using it.

I just bought it and really like what it can do. For the price, you can't complain.
Thanks for your input.

Yep - another satisfied Carboni customer here - I use CS3.
They only cater to part of the total process, but they're good for what they are.

I agree.
Spent last night playing with them and they're very handy.
