Thanks Houghy, although I don't use my Canon for astro imaging these days, what about CCD .fits files .... any idea.

I've got a line on a new copy for $259 .... fair price ?

Definitely CS3.

Stacking is a snack in CS3, photo merge is much improved, I think HDR processing is also improved. There are some other additional tools in CS3 that aren't in CS2, which make life easier and quicker (you can proably still do it in CS2 but with more work on your part).

CS3 is big improvement over CS2 IMO.

BTW $259 for CS3 sounds like a great price to me! You're not talking PS Elements are you?

Although I use CS2, CS3 I understand has some really nifty selection tools and a "squash" filter that does a much better job than the min filter in CS2 for making stars smaller.

CS3 for sure.
Better everything.

BTW where do you get it from, so cheap, is it legit ?
