Problems updating Starry Night Pro Plus 6

Hello,
I have succesfully installed Starry Night Pro Plus 6.0.0 on my Windows XP SP2-machine. But always when I try to install an update (e.g. 6.2.3) I get the error-message "Application not found". Then the updater asks me to chose the correct Starry-Night-installation-folder. I have always chosen the correct folder but the updater insists that "application not found" no matter what folder I choose.
Has anybody encountered this same problem? Has anybody a solution for this?
Previous to Starry Night Pro Plus6 I had Starry Night Pro plus 5.8 installed on my computer but I have uninstalled that previous version prior to the installation of version 6. Could that possibly cause trouble?
Personally I think that it has something to do with Java. I think Java jams the updating-process. The updater seems to use Java-runtime-environment but that may not run appropriate on my computer.

I have Pro Plus 6.4.3 running perfectly on my old iMac as you can see below...

The only gripe I have is that Simulation Curriculum give almost no notification whatsoever of any updates [This page alone bears testimony to it...SP6 is already at v6.4.3 but the "latest" version on MU is 6.2.3]

No, it's still very good software. I still use it for my telescope control. I haven't upgraded to version 7, either. Pro Plus 6 is absolutely fantastic. I prefer it over TheSkyX, too.

Yeah I know it's a super grave dig but Pro6 is still going strong both in Mac and Windows version. I have manually updated some of the space missions from Pro7 and the spacecraft and planet 3DS models into Pro6!

Also I needed an real forum to paste up these valuable upgrade links that still work years after these companies have gone west!

Still the most impressive Sky app out but the Pro7 version is clunky and bloated while the Pro6 sings...

SN Pro 6 & & are both very good. Once you buy a license, there is no limit how many computers you can install per license.

I have copies running on multiple computers. I like SNP7 except that it uses the computer systems time zone. So when planning observing for an overseas trip in the future, I have to switch home location on the operating system to get the correct time zone in SNP 7. SNP6 does not work that way. You can shift location around the world and it uses local time zone.

You can also run the scope using Sky Fi. Simulation curriculum make the Sky fi/Sky Wire range of products, Sky Safari and Starry Night Pro.

I noticed that to get v6 on older machines like Vista and OS X 10.5 to run quicker it was better to move the 'All Sky Image' folder out of the app. Ok, so you lost the deep zoom detail but for general observations the speed increase and de-cluttrring of the screen is worth it!
