This is a similar size to mine.:) 3m x2.4m x 1.5 h. I decided on a roll-off pitched roof for ease of construction (trusses) and caried on solid casters. I also have a seperate room for computers etc..

I house my 14" in a 2m x 1.8m x 1.8m Garden shed (giant field tripod and all).

My "in the process" of being built observatory will be 3m x 3m. Height yet to be determined but probably 1.85m so I don't hit my head on the door with a roll off pitched roof.
Hi Ian, my observatory is still in the planning stages and will be 5 x 3 roll off roof setup but only a 3 x 3 section will actually move.
The other part is normal roof covering my planned warm room, I haven't decided on the actual height so I'm guessing 1.8 to 2.0 metres.
Cheers

3m x 3m is probably the most popular size around the world (8' x 8' in the USA is most popular, only coz they talk in feet).
Not too huge but you can fit in their with your scope with room to move

And not to expensive. I've bought enough colourbond (admittedly 2nd hand) to clad and roof it for ~$250

nbow would you fit 2 piers within a 3m shed on the diagonal? or is that pushing it far too much?
it will only ever really be me in the shed, but then i am the size of a shed.......maybe a 4.5 * 2.5?

Have to agree.... for your size scope, that would be the smallest. BUT if you have the $$$$ go as big as you can, YOU KNOW WHY!
