Fantastic Anthony. It sure was a treat to see the other week. I'm sooo jealous of it and your outlook! But that wind, not so jealous of that :)
Are you going to be in a position to leave the scope permanently attached and aligned at some stage in the future? (once you have another roof?)
Maybe, but I'm a bit nervous about the storms we get around here, and some of the gear is a bit fragile. At this stage I'm happy that setting up takes about 2 minutes and there's no polar aligning to do :-)
But the longer term plan is to cover that area over with a roll-off roof, if I do that (late this year or next year) then the scope could be left out.

Very nice Bird.
Have you got the pier isolated from the concrete floor around it with a barrier layer, eg. timber to stop vibrations being transmitted from floor up to pier?

Very nice Bird. Do you leave the Mount always on the Pier, or does that get packed away too?

Beautiful work..
It is reminding me of my own humble shed put together back in '80-ies (it does not exist any more, possibly only the pier is still there, it was part of 0.7 metre concrete cube buried in the ground)... The shed was on rails and wheels so that it was possible to roll the whole thing over the scope, which was left on the site during the observing season and the door could be closed....
I intend to build something like that again (if my ministry of finance and foreign affairs - present on the attached image - agrees to this plan ;))
bojan, that building should have been on the heritage list, it is a real beauty.
