Rainbow halo around Sun, 2 Jan 12:30 EST

Hi, Happy New Year - just wondering if anyone else noticed the rainbow halo around the Sun at around 12:00 - 12:30 EST, 2 Jan? I was out for a walk and happened to notice the beautiful sight. Tried to get a few glances without viewing the sun directly. Can only assume it was due to the high altitude cloud in the sky at that time. From what I could tell, it was a perfect ring around the sun with the colours of the spectrum. I guess it's more a meterological event than astronomical but thought I'd share it here nevertheless.:)

If there were no clouds it it is usualy ice crystal which cause the halo effect:thumbsup:
