I just received a 3-port IoGear firewire hub from a local company (Expansys Australia), 3 ports, works ok with my camera gear and only about $45. If you're thinking about getting one of these hubs then this might be the place to go, I think that's a fair bit cheaper than the Belkin hubs.

Is it powered by 240v?

I just bought this LaCie one (http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?pid=10854) off ebay for about $80, very funky. It hasn't arrived yet so not sure how it works, but it looks good! :)

Hi Mike - this hub has a dc power connector , the normal firewire thing of 9-30v, but it doesn't come with a plugpack.

I'd guess that pretty much all firewire hubs have the same dc power connector - both mine are the same.
