Hi all,
I bought a 2nd hand version of The Sky 6. When I'm using it there seems to be a problem. I get a solid green patch which starts as a pin point at the SCP & widens out considerably as it heads towards the side of the screen & ends up about 15mm wide.

Anyone have any idea what may be causing this??? Or is it just the "join" in the digital picture .

Bryan

Could you attach a screen-print? (alt-print-screen -> open ms paint, save as jpg)

Green is usually "un-observable area" as I'd put it. That is, below horizon or where parameters have been defined that your telescope cannot slew there.

Roger.

Yes, what Roger said, green typically defines the demarcation of the horizon.

What happens when you select east, west or zenith views? Do you see any part of the virtual sky. Make sure you also specify your observing site location - rather obvious.

Try zooming in, as I recall getting a similar effect if I am "zoomed right out".
