Focal Reducer

I've taken delivery of a .6 focal reducer. But I'm unable to use it because my scope's focuser doesn't travel in enough to focus.
Can anyone give me some advise on how to overcome this.
The sky has finally cleared and I'd love to be able to use my latest toy.

On the A.J. Cannon? If so I reckon you either have major surgery or give the idea away. Newts don't have lots when it comes to in focus, unless it is set up that way, (rarely).If you really must, you can shift the primary forward, but then it jiggers the "normal" usage. Or necessitates an extension tube.

I've been chatting with ponders about it and I think that surgery will be needed on the nosepiece of the gstar.
I don't think I want Annie altered. Unless absolutely necessary.

No problem. Bear in mind as well most F/R's need a very specific distance between the rear of the F/R and the imaging surface/chip. Get that part sorted first, then try it.
Maybe you can try it in a refractor, trying it during daylight. Focus the CCD without the reducer, and then with. Measure how much "in" difference it creates, and work out whether you can afford this or want it. Me personally, I would forget it, and get a shorter focal length scope. But it can be done.
