What I really need, is a focuser like my JMI NGF-C, combined with a flip-mirror unit.
- Adding a flip-mirror on after the focuser simply adds too much imaging train for it to be practical.
- Removing the focuser isn't an option.
- Without the flip mirror I can not easily use my LX200 for deep sky photography, planetary imaging and visual use, so it's stuck in deep sky photography mode.
I can think how one might be built - cut out the top of the focuser, put a mirror inside, tube coming up in addition to normal image path, etc. Not the simplest thing to build though!
