I use ImagesPlus for focusing. I haven't used any other programs, but I like the way this one does it.

Thank you, Iceman.
Your computer works with Vista ? or with older version of Windows ?
I looked in the webpage of MLUunsold, and really ImagePlus works with Vista, BUT ONLY for Canon 350D : i own an old canon 300D.
There is another version of ImagePlus, that supports canon 300D, but it requires windows XP.
I had the same problem with another focusing software: DslrFocus, also this one doesn't works with Vista.
It's a big problem : i can't find a focusing sofware for my instruments - Canon eos 300D (too old !!) and computer With Vista (too new!!)

Try running it in XP compatability mode and also check the "Run as administrator checkbox"
Good luck. I have just bought a new laptop but haven't yet got it up and running. 2 laptops so far with 2 diferent problems in their hardware. Acer have lost me!!!

Yes, I use it when I use my Canon 20D, but it is with Windows XP Home. It works very well.

hey, guys, you are very kind.
I have tried many times, also in "compatibility mode", but it is always the same.
I thought to install XP in dual boot configuration, but some people told me that there are problems with the drivers : new computers, designed for Vista, use all "periferiche" (i don't know how to translate ; it means part of computer) suited only for Vista; so - before installing XP - i'd preferr to try Max Dslr;
at the moment i haven't found someone using MaxDslr on a new computer with Vista: but i don't loose hope.....
