Just in case you missed the announcement, Televue is having a sale...and it includes Australia!
It looks like they are offering a 13% discount for 13 weeks in celebration of the new 13 mm Ethos...although I do not know if the Ethos itself is actually on sale or just the other TV gear.
While some may say that this will, at least in the sort term, "devalue" the resale price for those who were hoping to sell their Nagler eyepieces and buy an Ethos with the proceeds and is purely a move by TV to keep the eyepiece market full of new product instead of cheaper second hand gear...
I prefer to think of it as a good thing in a more positive light and if I had extra money laying around would celebrate the happy occassion of a new product launch with some good old fashined buying...
Clear Skies!

Wow, with Bintel's recent price drop and then the 13% discount on top of that Televue is looking very competetive all of a sudden! Hottest picks I reckon are the Type 6 Naglers, the 24mm Pano and the 2x TV barlow! Never thought I could use the term bang for buck and the word Televue in the same sentence but there it is. Pity I'm broke, cos I'd love a 24mm Pano. :(

Yes, they do look pretty well priced...
They other pity is I don't really "need" anything either...I've got a 24 mm Pan and a 13 mm T6 and they are both very nice...in my opinion you would not be disappointed!
Maybe it is time for me to think about the 2x Powermate :)

Where was the announcement? Is it everything (what's 13% off a NP127!)?

Take a look at BINTEL's website for the details...
I am not sure what products are included and which ones that may not be...
I think it is only eyepieces and related.

Of Bintel's website in relation to Televue EP's - I notice tht there is a retail price listing for each item - which is struck-through, and a "your" price inserted underneath. They've had this for a fair while while the dollar has fluctuated. Is what is written there CURRENTLY the "13%-off" sale price now - or do you subtract 13% off what is shown?

the prices shown already have 13% off. The struck-thru prices are what used to be Bintel's special prices earlier in the year. So really it's a substantial saving over what prices used to be a year ago. The current retail prices used to be 2nd hand prices!

That looks like the 13% off price to me.

The struck-through price in red font is the price Bintel were selling the EPs for earlier this year prior to the price reductions they made because of the appreciating Australian dollar (Bintel's buy local, don't buy from the US sale), it's not the price they were most recently selling the EPs for. The price in black font is the recent price less 13% so it does incorporate the sale.
For example, the 31mm Nagler:
- was selling at $929 earlier this year
- was then reduced to $880 (I wrote down this price two weeks ago)
- has now been further reduced by 13% more to $759
I am tempted by the 2.5x powermate and maybe a 24mm Pano.

Well, I must admit I had a little Nagler splurge this morning at Bintel. The place was rocking (okay, 4 customers, but that was the most I'd seen in there) :)

I have an LXD75 8 inch Schmidt Newtonian f4. I presently use a 12.5mm and 24mm plossl - with a 2x Barlow. With all this enthusiasm for Televue, is there anything that would round out the EP collection?

don't know about "rounding out" but at f/4, a 9mm Nagler T6 could not hurt. Panoptics do not cut it at f/4 - except the 24mm seems to work better than the rest. btw the 8.5mm Pentax XF is brilliant in my f/4 Newt - perfect FL too for deep sky.

Oh God! The specials last until the end of December. How am I gonna resist the 31 T5 Nag that long?
