Hey guys:
Bought myself a Meade DSI Pro the other day. However, with my Bintel 252 10" dob, I cannot get it to focus. Its almost there, but the focuser doesn't go in far enough. Its the stock crayford 2inch.
Do I need to get one of these low profile focusers I've seen around? How does the measurement of these work?
Thanks
Anthony

If you want to use the DSI with a Dob then yes you will need to either get a low profile focuser, move your mirror further up the tube :scared: or try using the lens off a barlow attached to the end of the DSI (though that will increase you magnification at the same time).
Can I ask what you would like to image using the DSI and Dob?

Move mirror? No. Barlow? Haven't got one. Low profile it is :P
What do I want to image? Anything really :D We took some great photos of a twig last night :P
I bought a bt252 some time back, and then noticed the DSI Pro going for 310 bucks with filters and decided to pick that up at such a good price.
I'll point it at the moon, planets, hell I'll even give some nebula a go and just see what happens.

You'll be able to do the moon, if you can get a short enough exposure, and possibly the planets, but you'll need a bit of tracking before tackling some nebulas and such.
