Hi all,

In a thread that I cannot find now someone mentioned a Microsoft "power toy/tool" add-on that provides a right-click menu option allowing you to edit a photo (reduce, enlarge, etc.) from within windows explorer.

would anyone know what that application/power toy add-on is called and where to find it?

thanks,
DJDD

You can get it here

I'd also recommend VSO Image Resizer (http://www.vso-software.fr) - it's free and appears to do a little better job of compressing the images without introducing too many artifacts.

thanks, joe and iceman.
i looked high and low for that MS link, both in the forum and on Google and just could not find it.

i will test them both out and work from there. i have Photoshop CS3 but it s a hassle to open up and edit for quick things, like posting a photo to the forum.

cheers,
DJDD

Hi DJDD

It's on IceInSpace here, in this article from a few years ago (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/index.php?id=63,212,0,0,1,0).

We've used both and would agree with Mike, the VSO Image Resizer gives better results.

thanks, David.
I have downloaded the software and have found both utilities very useful for generating web friendly sizes.

And if you have any problems with VSO Image Resizer you can always send me a P.M :)

thanks.
although simple software to use it has a lot of good settings, such as choosing the output location, etc.
