who can see a piece of the sky through the windows falling asleep in its bed?
I see the roof of an adjoining building, a big nut tree,
and between them so much sky that I have the complete constellation Auriga in the visual gaze ( now at about 3 o'clock a.m.)
this night by that view I had the idea for this poll………
I do not see any sky
I see only skies by the windows
I see only few stars

I voted 'I do not see any sky' because my curtains are shut at night. Even if they were open I wouldn't see the sky because of the verandah.
You didn't give anyone the option of 'I can see lots of sky from bed'
Actually i would love to have a glass roof, and see the night sky,but Alice wont have a bar of it.

I would have voted for other.
I can't see the stars directly, because the the ceiling is being used for a starship battle. I have got 25+ star trek, stars wars, battlestar galatica, aliens spaceships hanging from the ceiling fighting each other.
When I get bored, i turn off the lights and unleash the green laser.
There is also 5 more models in space dock, waiting to join the battle
Also
As the obersvatory is controlled from the bed(room), I can see anything that I want to. The images just appear on the computer screen.

Not only stars, but at right time of lunar cycle and when cloud free - I see the Moon! We have to move house in the next few years - I'm already planning the master bedroom layout for a good view to the east from bed!

I have a view from about 15 deg to 75 deg up and about 50-60 degree long. When the moon is near full either side we have to shut the curtains it is so bright. Lots and lots of stars too :D

I have a reasonable view to the north and see some stars as they pass. No curtains to cut the view but some trees.

I've got those luminous stick on stars on my ceiling, see 'em every night.
No stars unless looking out the window, even then I can't see anything besides Jupiter
I couldn't stand a bedroom with an open ceiling. I've always been afraid of aliens  :screwy:

I see from the North West to South West through my large window I only have lace curtains.
I woke up early one morning in 1994 to see Comet hyukataki,(Spelling:shrug:) filling my view:eyepop:
The Moon is so bright some nights that I have to put my head under the covers to get some sleep.:D
Many years (42) ago, it was a matter of seeing all the night sky.......lived in a tent for 2 years in the East Kimberley.
Now it is a matter of seeing a section of the NE.
Last year, when I was ill in hospital, I saw this particular star that sparkled. I was amazed at the way it looked and, determined to find out, got involved with the "bug".......Oh, the star......Capella, The She-Goat. Blame it on her!!

I only see to the southwest, i can see the Southern cross in its entirety setting......then i just dream and drop off to sleep, when the gf comes over i dont see any stars! hehe
Wrong angles for me, I can't see anything unless I actually get up and look out the window. I don't mind the glow of the full moon though.
Cheers

A Star Destroyer taking a direct hit, with two klingon crusiers, two Romulan warbirds in support. Also note the full size Alien face hugger.

is it unfair, Ric.
a friend of mine lives in a studio dwelling, if he places his bed beside the window
(and lies on the correct side and it is clear weather :) )
nearly only the stars are in the field of his vision.
Fantastically - however he don’t interested in the stars :( .
Ispom, that's why I stay up all night when it's clear ;)
Geez Brendan, how can you sleep with a life size face hugger hanging over you :scared2: that would scare the willy's out of me if I woke up and saw that in the middle of the night.

I voted for no sky... I keep the curtains shut since the street lights are so bright:rolleyes:... and the bed room is at ground level in town.
Maybe when we move out of town!;)

Our bedroom is upstairs facing north with large windows so save for a couple of trees we can see most of the northern sky up to about 60 degrees lying in bed. During full Moon it can become almost uncomfortably bright.

i can see most of the sky in the north-east from bed. i made a 50mm refractor that i keep at the window for when i can't sleep. on clear nights i open the window and stargaze from bed, very cosy .
i can see in the neighbours bedroom... :ashamed:
ok i made that up :P
i get about 15-20 degrees from cheryls side of the bed and 5 degrees from mine :)

One of my favourite places on earth is my swag.
A remarkable thing, it seems to accompany me to all sorts of wonderful and varied places. 'Tis not a modern thing with zips, nets and hoopy things - just a simple canvas, foam and blanket device that affords a total view of the sky.
So I can't really cast a vote, because the criteria don't fit my favourite bed - but be sure that I have drifted off to sleep in swag many, many times, literally with stars in my eyes........

A couple of years ago, we stayed at Magellan observatory (Lake Bathurst, NSW). I swung the bed near a window, deliberately kept curtains open.Woke up several times to the sight of SMC loud and clear- surreal.

When I leave the curtains open I have a view to the south east. The best I have seen in bed is the IIS passing over.

Well I can see the Northern sky from my bed. My favorite time is the summer nights when the moon is full as it is low enough to see it with binoculars. As long as the light comes in at right angles (near to it), the glass offers little effect from dispersion. Below the northern limit of the ecliptic, our palm trees cut out the view a bit.
