Well, contrary to my belief, the ASIair program does run on a Mac.

I just received a MacBook Pro M1 (a 2020 version) and had begun to load a few utilities when, just on a whim, I did a search to see what ZWO stuff was there and there it was - so of course I grabbed it and have just done a quick test and bingo - it works perfectly - exactly as it does on my Android tablet.

I shouldn't be too surprised I suppose since it does also run on my iPad but for whatever reason, I didn't think it had been ported to the Mac. Oh well, you live and learn.

That's a good outcome for you Peter.
I would imagine anything compatible with iPad would also be Mac compatible but I know little of Mac systems. Other than stripping and repairing a few older Mac desktops over the years I've had little to do with them.

Thanks Leo.

This is my first Mac apart from a few old IIe and IIc machines back in the 80s. So it's very much a learning experience. And just to complete the challenge, I just loaded it with PixInsight - which I have had for years but never mastered.

All in all, I have either made a massive rod for my own back or made sure my grey cells don't rot from disuse. Perhaps both.

Hi Peter,

ASIAir runs on all newer Macs with M-series hardware ('Apple silicon'). It will not run on older (pre late 2020) Macs..

cheers, J
