Hi all

Andrew Bundschuh (Kal) and Eric Kingston (erick) have collaborated to write an article describing how to Overlay Light Pollution Map in Google Earth. It's a great tool for working out how dark your observing sites or star parties are.

You can read the article on the IceInSpace Projects and Articles (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/index.php?projects) page, or directly by clicking the link below:

Thanks guys! It's a snack when you know how. I now have an overlay of light pollution covering all of NSW and Vic in Google Earth.

Does this procedure still work? I just tried this and all that happened was that a 'Big Red X' was placed over the map i wanted to overlay????

Should still work, I did the overlay a few months back.
Whenever I open GE the overlay is still there.

Yeah I'm getting the red X as well :(

Fixed it. I think it relates to size of image. I cropped the original image and then did an overlay and it now works.
