Hi Guys, as i understand it ImagesPlus is available free from Mike Unsold and will/does load up OK and works, however it is definitely not the same as the original i bought some time ago which came as 5 separate Disc's.:)

Just out of curiosity I decided to load the install disc of ImagesPlus 2.80 and yes it installed fine, but when it asked me for the license number or that software it wouldn't accept the original license numbers that came with the program.

Would there be anyway around this maybe.

I have in the past loaded programs that i had bought many years before this one and they still accept the License numbers no problems, so why would this Images Plus program not do the same.

Thank You.

Leon:thumbsup:

This may be irrelevant but many licensing servers have long been shut down because the software hasn't been in mainstream use for some time.
My son wrote a golf scoring program for a former online friend in the USA. My son set up his own Arduino based system in the house to handle any licensing requests via our own internet (with heavy security in place).
Sadly the gentleman he'd written the program for got very unhealthy and we lost contact so my son switched it all off here.

I believe many smaller software companies did much the same thing and there are no quick fixes and it would be far from economic for any software developer to open it up again.
There may be a developers code to alleviate the need to enter a license key but you'd need to discuss that with the person who wrote the program.

Good luck mate!

Thanks Leo, I reckon you might be on the money, so to speak, it has been a while and the software is pretty old and there is a free new version of it but i did like the old one.

What does that tell you, I'm from the old school :lol:

Hi Leon

A few years ago I beleive that Mike Unsold made Images Plus 6.5 a free download.

Have a look at his website.

http://www.mlunsold.com/

If you look at this page:

http://www.mlunsold.com/ILOrdering.html

It gives you a serial number which hopefully should work.

Give that a try and see if it works.

As you likely already know Leon I like my old school software myself. Where my son has the ability to look at newer versions of programs and instantly figure out what does what I no longer have the same ability. I used to and spent over 30 years building and repairing computers and software based issues.
Bring back DOS, LOL. I was a champion with that and could do anything.
I read specialist books from cover to cover right up to Windows 98 (which I still have), big books specifically on the OS but it just kept changing too fast and I lost interest. My son however, he can program in any language and is extremely proficient at coding, all self taught after I taught him about controlling machinery with a PC with simple batch files when he was much younger. He got his first computer at 3, I got my first in my thirties but had to study programming and other related stuff while studying for an advanced diploma in electronics engineering.

That link Dennis posted may be very promising though and though I haven't had a look because I don't run that software it would be well worth you having a look.
