Great news for anyone into planetary, solar/lunar imaging - Emil Kraaikamp has just released AutoStakkert 4 in BETA for download. I've been having a quick play with it yesterday and today with some Jupiter data I captured last week and seems to be very good and quite stable. The UI is essentially unchanged, but the biggest improvement is stacking speed - and I'm getting somewhere between 2-3x faster results. There's also a number of other very nice features such as auto quality estimation, impact detection, and some other additional display/output options. Oh yeah, and it's a free download!

Oh great, I was looking into this not that long ago and it appeared to have stalled. Great to hear the beta is out.

gave it a test run - works great in linux under Wine (just like v3).

Dave,
Thanks for the heads up
You know I’m only a planetary dabbler but definitely going to download AS4 and give a try.
AS4 has been talked about on various forums for a number of years now so great an update has finally come out.
Brilliant planetary stacker, kudos to Emil Kraaikamp
Cheers
Martin
