Hi all,

Just watched a video from Cuiv the lazy geek on Youtube, trying out GraXpert, which is a free and open source background remover for win/mac/linux and it looked fairly impressive. Decided to give it a go with the Ai model and non Ai model and it appears to work really really well, probably faster / easier than DBE/ABE in Pixinsight.

Definitely worth a go and great to see some excellent high quality free and open source options

(to use the Ai background model you need to use the beta release)

Ai model (save it to the same folder location as GraXpert

Thank you!
I used GraXpert for something with gradients (I think, I can't remember) and it seemed a lot easier to use than Registax.
I used to be considered somewhat smart but now have trouble remembering what I ate for breakfast (I eat the same thing most days). I found GraXpert required less grey matter.

I haven't played with GraXpert for background removal but I'm not financially in a position to purchase Pixinsight and other not so cheap options so I look for open source programs to play with photo editing frequently and generally rely on user reviews such as yours.
Age and medication has taken it's toll!

I don't mind the grey hair but the brown matter is depressing.......
