View Full Version here: : Oopsie - save Mono Fits as Colour ones - how to convert?

I made a dummy mistake in APT last night that I spotted an hour too late - I accidentally ticked my camera as Bayer mask and say information in file when I meant it to control my Mono MM1600-c camera.

It wasn't until the early morning I thought I would see how my FWHM in DSS looked that I realised what I had done!

Is there a simple way to change 30 or so files to tell them they are Mono - no colour frames - do it one by one in photoshop or run some tool to convert each back to Mono?

Many thanks, Matt

I did find a complex route to address this - open each wrong channel frame in DSS - stack them with no flats, Bias, Darks and stored them as a Tif, import them into Photoshop - change them to Grayscale and save then add them back into the Mono data for that channel in DSS - this time combining them with the other correctly identified mono frames per filter and stack them with Darks and flats and BIAS etc.

What a pain - will try to never do that mistake again!

Have a look at PiPP. Meant for planetary image processing but its mono conversion tool might help with this too.

Or maybe just record an action in PS?
