OK, I have a strange situation with my repaired LX200 & CCDSoft:

If I move the telescope via TheSky at Guide rate, it will move as predicted, equally in either E or W, with no backlash noticable.

If I move the telescope via CCDSoft using the E or W buttons in the camera setup window (on any tab that they are avilable - Autoguide for example, movment in W is normal but there is no apparent movement in E.

What the!? :screwy:

I have not yet re-calibrated the autoguider at all - still trying to achieve that, this is causing problems for doing that.

Ideas anyone?

Hi Roger

This is a long shot, but in CCDSoft there are tick boxes to disable/enable auto guider movement - are these ticked? Shown on Page 126 of my manual.

Cheers

Dennis

Yeap, that's all OK. It appears no matter what settings I change in CCDSoft the problem remains the same.

I posted a message on the Yahoo! CCDSoftV5 group and the suggestion there is the cable is at fault between ST7 & LX200 (the guider cable), not being seated correctly or being lose in a plug or having dirt on the contacts.

I hope that is the case, that's an easy fix, but I have to admit I'm skeptical after all the troubles I have had with the internals of my scope, I just wonder if the camera has some fault also on the guider port.. if it was lightning that killed the scope, perhaps it transferred through the guider port in to the camera.

Time will tell, I'm going to test some theories tonight when I get home.

Thanks,
Roger.
