Just posting pictures of my observatory
built from a packaged shed
i modified the roof to open just manually pulls open very easily
telescope stand is in 1 cu metre concrete with flexible packing between shed slab
the construction is great but having heaps of problems setting up and using the 12 inch lx200

Great work Tom.
Looks a nice size also. What shed did you buy?
The pier looks a bit out of plumb and but probably just photo angle.
I have a 14 LX200 on a much shorter pier, and once you get it sorted, with the superwedge you will love it.
I know it is tricky polar aligning the large SCTs, once you put them on a wedge but dont give up. You have a great setup.

I bought the oxford 6 x 9 timber shed from cheap sheds.
And added an extra 2 posts and 2 rails and it wasn't real difficult to buy rollers and roller channels to make the roof slide off.
The pier is exactly level the camera shot is probably not level and the shed has a slight slop.
I have made a lot of progress lately I have had a lot of help from forums on cloudy nights and the telescope is now connected to starry night pro and I am hoping with that program I can get a better polar alignment

Great little DIY observatory there Thomas. While it may make certain polar alignment methods more difficult, as long as the pier is stiff and solid, being out of plumb would make no difference anyway, once it is polar aligned :thumbsup:

Hi Thomas have tried Polar scope align pro it is an app that you can down load on your phone which will help you to get a spot on polar alignment it also has a hole lot other stuff on their as well.
