Hi Everyone,
The Green tinge remover!
The HLVG64.8bf file is not working in Win10 but works in Win7.

I am using the old Photoshop CS5.1 in Windows 10 on my new computer.
On my old Win7 computer it works in both CS5.1 and CS6.
I tried everything - I spent 5 hours on Google -
searching for an answer -
I was using the old file from my Win7 computer - but
I downloaded the 64 bit file again from here

http://www.deepskycolors.com/archive/2010/04/26/hasta-La-Vista-Green.html

and made sure it was in

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins\Filters

the right place with the other filters as per my old Win7 computer.
( I tried many other places too as an experiment)

The Deep Sky filter section comes up in filters on the Win7 but not the Win10 computer.
See attached pic.

I checked file properties etc and they all look OK.
The only thing I could still try is to load PS CS6 on my Win10 computer? - but I think it's a waste of time.
Other than that - Photoshop CS5.1 is working perfectly under Win10.

There is also a video here from YouTube.

Any ideas from anyone would be gratefully accepted?

cheers

Thanks Nikolas,

I have PS CS6 but I uninstalled it on my old Win7 computer as I didn't like
the colour scheme.
I did re-install it on my old Win7 computer and it works fine with HLVG.

It's all I have left which I could try on my Win10 computer.
Is it worth installing it?

I have tried many different locations for HLVG.

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins\Filters

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins\Digimarc

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins

Of course - I have used the 64 bit version.

HLVG64.8bf 94,208 bytes

The problem is now solved with the help from a genius at another Astro website.

The desktop Icon on my screen was a 32 bit version.
I deleted it.

I dragged the Photoshop.exe file to the desktop.

I made the 64 bit version an icon and now HLVG is working - yippee.
So Photoshop.exe is now a screen icon.

It cost me about 2 days of work and that's all it was.

I thought there was something wrong last night when Photoshop was only
using the memory of a 32 bit computer - 3 Gigabytes when
I had 32 Gigabytes of memory.

The old icon properties said
Target "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1\Photoshop.exe"
Start in"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1"

The new icon says
Target "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe"
Start in "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 (64 Bit)"

It's so simple once you know - like all faults.

Photoshop CS5.1 had installed only the 32 bit Icon so
that's what I was clicking on.

cheers
