Does anyone know any techniques for capturing meteor shower images?

Hi Davo

The easiest way i do meteor capture is to use a wide fast lens, something in the range of 50mm, at about 1.4 to 2.0 max.

Works much better with a film cameras, like an older style Olympus or Pentax, or similar.

Use fast film, at about 400 ASA, and depending if you want star trails or tracked stars. just open at a dark site for a couple of minutes, and move to the next frame.

Try and choose a time of the year when Meteors are more abundant, the darker the site the better, you can then leave your lens open longer, also point in the direction from where the Meteors radiate from.

Now just wait, and hope you can capture one, they really are very
elusive. ;)

Also best after midnight, it is then that the Meteors don't have to catch up with the earth, but rather run into it, so to speak.
