I've laid my hands on a Dell Optiplex 9020M micro desktop and want to upgrade the SSD.

I'm having difficulty identifying the type of SSD to buy, M.2 PCIE ?, M.2 SATA ?, NVME ? ...

I have a 1TB NVME drive but it won't fit in the slot on the motherboard, the key seems too narrow?

Can anyone advise/recommend which SSD type I should buy?

Pics attached.

Thank you!

It looks like NVMe based on the slot. SATA has two slots.

The manual for the 9020 is pathetic, best confirm it with Dell themselves.

NVMe full name is "PCIe NVMe".

It should fit OK, I noticed that you have two screws still in the board, make sure you remove the middle screw, otherwise it won't seat correctly.

Thanks Malcolm,
The drive I have has an 'M' key, the slot on the motherboard requires an SSD with a 'B' key so I have ordered a 1TB drive to suit.
I agree about the manual!
