Could you ... Would you Binoview using Pentax XW eyepieces?

Not really. They are a bit too thick for binoviewer. I own Pentax XW set and I'm binoviewing a lot and after testing a lot of eyepieces I've found that the most comfortable ones are the narrow ones. Like plossls, orthos etc. Morpheus are good for BV as well.

I have a pair of Baader Morpheus 17.5 for binos. They seem to work well.

I'm happy enough with the WO 20mm eyepieces that came with my WO binos', they work quite well at 70* afov and are small and light. Also have a selection of orthos' for the planets, they favourites of which are the 12.5 BGOs' and the 1.6X OC.
Used in a variety of scopes from 4" and 5" refractors and 8" and 10" newts. If wider fields are required then I just cyclops view. I must say that the views of brighter dsos' are most rewarding with binos' if they fit in the field, think globular clusters as one example, a very real 3D effect.
Would certainly imagine that Pentax XWs' would be too fat to work effectively.

I like the Morpheus line in binocular scopes a lot. I also like the Denkmeir eyepieces (if you can find them). Both brands are very comfortable to use.

Given up pursuing the Pentax XW's for Binoviewing.

I have just purchased a Zeiss APO Binoviewer but need to select a GPC to use on my TEC160FL. 1.7, 1.8 or 2.6 .. choices, choices

As for eyepieces I have a pair of Docter 12.5mm so I will see how that combo goes to start with.

2 x 19mm Panoptics are a nice combo' with Binoviewers....especially with Denk' Bino's

I had that setup a few years back now.

To check for binoviewer compatibility, add 17 to 18mm to the diameter of the eyepiece (you might need to look it up). If that is smaller than your interpupillary distance, they are fine for you.
If that figure is larger than your IPD, then you and the eyepieces are not compatible.

One additional check--the longer the eye relief, the larger the eyepiece you can use because your nose need not be completely in between the eyepieces. It's a sliding scale, and it might take a bit of experience to know how large an eyepiece you can get away with.

I bought a few sets of eyepiece pairs for my Takahashi Twin View and later for my Denkmeier unit.

The matched pair of 20mm Erfles I got from Japan were in collimation, as were my 32mm Meade Plossls.

The 6mm and 10mm Superviews I got from Andrews were only slightly out of collimation.

But my pairs of 6.4mm, 15mm, and 12.4mm Meade Plossls and a pair 28mm eyepieces were badly out of collimation.

I tried the XWs, Delos, etc but with 63.5mm IPD I found them too big.
I now use pairs of Panoptic 24, LOA21, XF8.5, Tak LE 30, 18, 7.5 & 5mm.

I use Zeiss binoviewers and Baader Maxbright T2 with GPC1.25x
