Hi all

Probably a very simple solution that I'm missing here, but what's the best way to figure out names of objects in Stellarium when they aren't tagged.

This one, for instance, is between the Monkey Head and Betelgeuse but has no name

Are there any plugins I can enable to see more names?

I don't know how you got the actual nebula to show up, as I can't get it to show on my version of Stellarium (which admittedly hasn't been updated in a while), but if you go into "sky and viewing options", then "DSO", you may need to tick all the catalogue boxes to display the name. Also unclick the "limit magnitude" box, and make sure all the DSO boxes are clicked on under "filter by type". Pull the "labels" tab under "labels and markers" all the way to the right, which should bring up the name. Unclick "use designations for screen names" - doing this will bring up its common name rather than the catalogue number, making it easier to find well known objects. FYI, it's Lower's Nebula - SH 2-261 or LBN 863. Apologies if you've already tried all this.

You beauty, thank you Patrick. That's done the trick. It was in the Sharpless catalogue :)

FYI, I'm running Stellarium v0.20.2 on my desktop PC and v0.20.4 on my laptop
