View Full Version here: : Weird lines in Blue channel of RGB Saturn

After capturing Saturn the other night, I did the standard split in AVIRAW into R, G, B.
When it came time to process the blue channel, the Blue AVI showed these wird lines going across the whole AVI and then when processed.
Have not seen these before with my SPC900.
This is not the case in the other AVI's (Red or Green) it's just on the Blue AVI and processed blue image (see attached).
Weird stuff!
Any thoughts as to what is going on?

eww that's pretty bad. Did you have any other electrical interference nearby?

Only DP's prototype cooler: 3 peltiers, 1 fan, 1 PC power supply and lots of loose wires all over the place, but it was turned off (not at the power point). Would it cause this just on the blue channel? Interesting.

aha, it's DP's plan to reduce your image quality ;)

I've seen that kind of thing in Quick Cam's and Sac camera's (which use QC chips last I heard), usually when the gain is pushed too high.
It's not normally so smooth as you have there, but the same pattern of lines.
I've never checked if it's in one colour channel or not, i don't remember it having a specific hue.
I have always thought it's related to electrical interference or magnets or something like that around. Perhaps even something in the computer or camera its self.
I suppose if it only apears after the RGB split...there is your answer.
Is it detectable in the original colour composite? if not then try another RGB split run, or program.
