Hi everyone,
Seems like forever since i have been here, but still kicking around.
I am thinking on getting a fujifilm x-t2 or x-t20 and giving it ago with astrophotography.
Just wondering if anyone has tried stacking raf raws in Deep sky tracker from any of the x series cameras? What i have seen in some articles is that the x-trans sensor gives nice results with low noise and decent Ha response.
Cannot seem to find much info on this, only old thread from a few years back.
Any info appreciated.

I was using my Xt-3 last night. I use PixInsight, but am still on learning curve for DSLR processing. PI will handle Fuji RAF files. I don’t think DSS will cope with Fuji’s Xtrans sensor - you would have to convert them to TIFF first.
In my googling today, I found a program called Sequator (free) that stacks Fuji RAF files. Haven’t downloaded it, but it might be worth a look.

Thanks David. Have not used pixinsight for stacking, subtracting etc. Will give it a go.
How do you find the x-t3 for astro. Don't know if you have anything else to compare it with? Been a canon user for a long time and still using a old modded 40d.

XT3 does some raw filtering but overall I think its a good camera. Its got the BSI 26mp sensor that is popular in the ZWO ASI2600mc.
The RAW converters are the thing to be careful of with Fuji X cameras.
RAW Therapee is one of the best. There are lots of threads about this on DP Review.
I would not use PI to handle Fuji Xtrans files. It needs a specialised converter.
Greg.

Hi Gary,
To be honest, I haven't done a lot of astronomy work with the XT-3. I've done some moon shots at 1600mm and a widefield of Crux. PI did a pretty good job on converting the files IMHO.
I've previously owned Nikon DSLRs. Focusing via live-view is a similar experience. Noise seemed acceptable. Unfortunately I just haven't done enough shooting to give you an educated opinion - work and the weather seem to conspire against me...
