Hi Guys, yep, it is me again with another quick question on Win 8.1.

Today i contacted Microsoft Support and hoped they might help me activate this re/install of Win 8.1.

To make a long story short they found that my install of the product has an error/corrupt file that will never allow it to be activated.

They were very helpful and after trying many options suggested i reinstall with a new version and sent me a ISO download, and on completion of this download suggested i ring them back and then activate this OS.

The link they sent only has a 24 hour acceptance for download before it is unusable.

They said it will not alter anything on this Computer at all.

Question is: Is this correct, or should i just use what i have and don't bother with activation, or if i don't activate will it eventually stop working at all. :shrug:

Your thoughts please, and thanks in advance,

Hello Leon

That's great that you have found what the issue is with getting your software up and running.

Now, without wishing to sound rude but as one old fart to another.

You ran microsoft for help, they gave it to you and now you want us to tell you to take it or not???

Just do as they bloody well say!

( after all, what do you have to lose )
