Any recommendations for a x1.5 quality Tele-extender or Barlow which would fit a 1.25" set-up.
I'm looking of such an animal to give me a full frame solar image (ASI 1600MM) on the ED80.

Beren,
My Japanese translator didn’t work to well....
Is this a 1.25” fitting with a T thread???

Beren,
Thanks.
A pretty expensive solution, not sure what the final magnification would be - it does say it's a tele-extender so the back focus (nosepiece-T2, T2 to T2 tilter, T2 to camera) shouldn't make any difference .....
In the meantime I found "in my box of tricks" an Astro Engineering, x1.6 Magni-Max (AC555) Barlow. (I tried this years ago to improve a guide camera set-up)
It's a 1.25" filter thread so needs a bit of ingenuity to get a fit to the T2 tilter.....
Let's see what can be done.

Update:
The filter sized AE Barlow...found a 28mm to male T thread adaptor, this then needed a female/ female T thread at one end to mount a 1.25" nosepiece.
Where do you get a female/ female T thread adaptor??
Baader and Agena do one....what other options?????

An inspired thought...the T2 camera adaptors I have (many!!) have the T thread insert - three small grub screws - what about it?
Yes! removing the insert provided an ideal female/ female...
Mounted on the front of the usual ZWO T2 tilter managed (between wind and cloud) to get a solar image. The image size is ideal!
Hmmm OK, but what about quality? resolution?
I'm taking a couple of images to check things out....stay tuned.

ZWO include a 10mm female-female adapter with their cooled cameras, and some of the larger-chipped non-cooled ones.

Dunk,

"what's in the box?"
Couldn't find it :(

until I realised it was fitted to the front of the camera!

I think, at the moment I have to leave it in place....anyway looks like my cobbled together barlow works.

Glad you got it sorted, Ken

How do you find the AE Barlow across the field of the 1600 sensor?

The early results look acceptable.
Next opportunity I'll take some H alpha to check for Newton Rings....
