Hi folks,
Below is a link to interesting alternative to Mel Bartels DOS software... for windows, 100% compatible with his hardware.
http://www.astrostepper.net/
The advantage is, you can run planetarium software (like CdC) on the same computer and have them working together.
I have not tested it yet, but I will soon and will post the results...

cooool... looks an interesting approach from the DOS version of Scope. I wonder how the real time delivery of data is controlled, Mel was using dos because he could achieve real-time control of the steppers, I wonder if this is possible through this software... Be interesting to hear the reviews...

I guess it is OK with fast laptops only.

Hi from Costa Rica
The AstroStepper cant work for some windows timing limitations

I have talk with Mel bartels about it many times and a really good posibility is to make a Linux version of the Scope software that I will to try some day on the future.

Maybe the last windows chance will be using Vista with some multicore procesor (dual o better a quad one) where u can find really windows multitasking

I have made a little program for windows in order to see what to expect, u can control your stepper based system (mels one) using a game pad or joystick... maybe u want to try it
